A newlywed Filipina wife was allegedly murdered by her husband in Slovenia.

Marvil Facturan-Kocjancic, 27, was reportedly beaten then stabbed to death by her partner Mitja Kocjancic, 30, during her holiday vacation in the northwestern town of Bled.

The couple were said to have had a row on December 29 evening. Neighbours called police after hearing the woman's loud screams from their apartment.

The cops arrived and found Mitja had barricaded himself inside the home. They broke down the door and allegedly found Marvil already dead with the crazed husband standing nearby.

Mitja was arrested and taken to a psychiatric facility, local media Slovenske novice reported.

The alleged killing happened just days after Marvil moved to Slovenia to join her husband. The couple were seen in photos smiling happily as they celebrated the holidays.

Mitja, a weight loss motivational speaker, had posted online that he was having the 'best Christmas so far' and that 'life is good' after Marvil's arrival in his hometown.

The couple's whirlwind romance reportedly began in April 2024. They were married in a civil wedding in the Philippines in late July.

Police were investigating the case.
