On January 8, X user Kaleo posted a harrowing video showing the destruction in Altadena and Pasadena, describing the area as "total devastation" with the Altadena Country Club and surrounding homes reduced to ashes. The massive 10,600-acre blaze has advanced north toward Mount Wilson, threatening a major Southern California transmission center. At least five people have died in the fire, which has torn through Pasadena, Altadena, and the Angeles National Forest, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Officials also reported over 1,000 structures damaged or destroyed and a "number of significant injuries," including four firefighters.
