US: Massive Smoke Cloud as Palisades Fire Threatens San Fernando Valley
San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, United States - January 10, 2025 A dramatic video shared by X user "k den" on January 10 captured a massive cloud of smoke from the raging Palisades Fire as it closed in on the San Fernando Valley. Filmed from the 101 Freeway, the footage showed the wildfire's ominous approach, with "k den" warning, "Palisades Fire moving our way. Stay safe and stay ready, valley friends!" The Palisades Fire, already among Los Angeles' most destructive natural disasters, has left Pacific Palisades in ruins and continues to push north, threatening Encino and Tarzana. Fire crews were seen battling to stop the flames from reaching the intersection of the 101 and 405 freeways, while evacuation warnings remained in place for parts of Tarzana, Encino, and Calabasas. East of the fire’s core, flames also moved toward Westwood and UCLA. On Friday night, UCLA Police warned the campus community to prepare for possible evacuations as the fire's reach extended dangerously close. With tens of thousands still under evacuation orders and the fire showing no signs of slowing, officials urge residents to remain alert and ready to leave if conditions worsen.
