STORYLINE:
The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), on behalf of the Ministry of Finance, issued treasury bills (T-bills) at a total value of 55 billion Egyptian pounds (EGP) through two offerings on Sunday.
With a tenor of 91 days, the first tranche was valued at about 20 billion EGP, according to official data.
The second offering stood at 35 billion EGP and will mature in 273 days.
These treasury bill offerings are part of the government's strategy to meet previous debt obligations and to finance the state budget deficit.
