Kraków, Poland - January 24, 2025 Before being thrown into the abyss of Auschwitz, many Polish Jews passed through ghettos like the one in Krakow, where, after being stripped of all their belongings, they lived in overcrowded conditions waiting for a decision on whether they were suitable for forced labor or were sent to extermination. When next Monday marks the 80th anniversary of the liberation by the Soviet Army of the extermination camp where more than a million people were murdered, numerous tourists from all over the world, visibly impressed, stroll through the same streets that were the scene of unimaginable horror.
