Re'im, Israel - February 01, 2025 Yarden Bibas embraced his father and sister on Saturday after 484 days in Hamas captivity, but his wife Shiri and their two young sons remain missing. Bibas was abducted from Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7, 2023, while trying to protect his family. Hamas later claimed his family was killed in an Israeli strike, a claim Israel denies, but no updates have followed. Bibas’s release, alongside hostages Ofer Calderon and Keith Siegel, brought mixed emotions. While Calderon and Siegel reunited with their families, Bibas returned to an unbearable reality. “A quarter of our heart has returned,” his family said. “But the home remains incomplete.”
