A fire broke out at a nightclub in Cambodia in this morning due to an electrical short circuit.

Footage shows flames ripping through the Xin Zhuan Hui KTV entertainment club in Poipet on Wednesday, February 19.

Fire crews were joined by the police and military.

Officials said that up to 50 firefighters and seven water trucks were needed to bring the inferno under control and extinguish the fire.

Officers stated that the fire was believed to have caused by an electrical short in the rear of the air conditioner, which spread to the front wall.

No casualties were reported in this incident, with only the front decor estimated to be damaged by about 20 to 30 square metres.
