Footage shows a fire raging in the grounds of an airport in the capital of Kenya on February 21.

Officials said the grass fire erupted on the grounds of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi.

Henry Okatch, a Kenya Airways spokesman, said: 'The fire is not close to the runway. There have not been any flight disruptions. They have managed to contain part of it.'

All airport activities, including passenger processing and cargo handling, were unaffected.

Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) is the busiest airport in East Africa and serves as the major hub for air travel throughout the region.
