Rival fans hurl plastic beer bottles during football game in Thailand
Rival fans hurled plastic bottles when their favourite football team lost a game in Thailand.
The rowdy sports fans, who supported the losing team, Muangthong United, flung their drinks upwards while the winning team was thanking the spectators.
Footage shows plastic cups and bottles with beer and water flying everywhere on February 24. It happened while the winning team's president, Newin Chidchob, gave a victory speech.
Some landed on the heads of other fans, but after being told off, the drinks continued to be launched in the air.
The Muangthong United Club apologised to Buriram United.
They said: 'Muangthong United Football Club would like to express our sincere regret and apology to the President of Buriram United Club, including athletes, staff and all Buriram United football fans for the inappropriate behaviour of our fans.'
The Buriram United athletes sang their team's anthem when the rowdy fans hurled bottles aimed at the field.
But before the game ended, the stadium announcer had to ask the fans to stop throwing plastic bottles during the second half.
The Football Association are now being urged to investigate as the losing team might have committed an offence for allegedly allowing it to happen.
If proven guilty, the football team will be fined up to 60,000 baht (1,411.43 GBP).
