A passenger on a flight from Bucharest to Oradea captured the moment the plane's left engine exploded.

At around 35 seconds into the videos shows flames shooting out of the aircraft's left engine.

The filmer told Newsflare that the incident happened just minutes after takeoff. "Passengers were too shocked to react as the plane continued flying with one working engine," they added.

"The Mayor of Oradea was also on board, seated a few rows behind me. After the event, he contacted the former mayor of Oradea, who helped arrange accommodation for the passengers for one night."

The flight then safely returned to Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport.

Video captures the moment of an explosion on the left engine mid-flight just minutes after takeoff. The engine can be seen gradually failing while the sound of the malfunction is clearly audible. Passengers were too shocked to react as the plane continued flying with one working engine. Also, the mayor of Oradea, Florin Birta was present in the plane.

The flight returned safely to Bucharest, where the female pilot made a smooth emergency landing.

While filming the skyline from a plane, the left engine of the aircraft exploded. Flames and a loud noise can be seen and heard in the video. After the explosion, the sound of the engine can be heard gradually stopping. The passengers and crew do not react immediately, appearing to be in shock.
