Buenos Aires, Argentina - March 12, 2025 [WARNING: violent content] Starting this afternoon, the ruling party faces a new attempt by the opposition to investigate the $Libra case, the cryptocurrency that Javier Milei disseminated on his social media, whose price spiked and then collapsed, leaving the President embroiled in a fraud investigation. Within this framework, March 19th has been set as the date on which a commission will receive requests for reports, interpellations, and consider the creation of an investigative commission dedicated to the case. In addition, the opposition also requested consideration of a bill seeking to declare an environmental, economic, and housing emergency in Bahía Blanca and nearby towns. Tensions within the La Libertad Avanza (LLA) party were evident during the Chamber of Deputies session, which ended in a scandal with physical confrontations, shouting, and insults. Amid the internal disputes, a clash erupted between deputies Lilia Lemoine and Marcela Pagano, when the former attempted to pressure Lemoine to leave the chamber and thus avoid the quorum necessary for the normalization of the Impeachment Committee. The scene became even more tense when deputy Rocío Bonacci, also from the LLA, reacted by throwing a glass of water at Lemoine, deepening the rift within the ruling bloc.
