Yemen: Iran, Hamas, Kataib Hezbollah condemn U.S. deadly airstrikes on Yemen
Iran and armed groups including Hamas and Iraq-based Kataib Hezbollah on Saturday condemned the latest U.S. airstrikes on Yemen that has killed at least 31 people and injuring over 100 others. The condemnations came after the U.S. warplanes on Saturday night bombarded several Houthi targets in Yemen's capital Sanna and the northern province of Saada. Many women and children were among the fatalities in the airstrikes, said the Houthi-run Health Ministry. Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei issued a statement later in the day, strongly condemning the U.S. airstrikes. Baghaei said the action of the U.S. military severely violates the Charter of the United Nations and international law. He attributed the unrest and chaos in the region to the killings of the Palestinian people and occupation of Palestinian territories by Israel backed by the U.S.-led West. Baghaei called on the international community to take action to jointly address the regional crisis. In its statement, Hamas denounced the U.S. strikes as a blatant violation of international law, saying that they represent an attack on Yemen's sovereignty and stability. Iraq-based Kataib Hezbollah said the assault further showed that the United States is a supporter of criminal actions in the region and around the world, noting that the aerial bombardment is a clear evidence of the U.S. government's failed attempt to undermine the Houthis' firm support for Gaza.
