'Haydenosmera' never imagined her Stanley Cup would become a lifesaver, but after a harrowing car crash, that’s exactly what it did.

In a viral video with over 8 million views, she recounts the morning of March 26, 2025, when her routine drive to school took a disastrous turn. Battling sun glare and a broken visor, she didn’t see a flatbed semi parked in her lane until it was too late. She hit it going 40 mph, triggering her airbags and sending her into shock.

After she freed herself from the wreck, emergency responders arrived. As EMTs checked her vitals, a firefighter pointed out something unbelievable: her trusty Stanley Cup had absorbed enough impact to prevent the dashboard from collapsing onto her legs.

“I’ve taken that cup everywhere for two years,” she said in disbelief. “And now it’s the reason I can still walk away.”

So everything started Wednesday morning on my way to school. I was taking my typically route which typically takes around 20 minutes to complete and I’ve found certain “back roads” to take to avoid traffic. So I was headed east around 8:30 and the sun was shining right in my eyes so I tried to flip my sun visor down but it had broken off and was dangling down. As I was trying to fix it with the sun in my eyes I didn’t see the flat bed semi parked in the middle of my lane. I hit it going around 40 mph and the airbags instantly went off. I was in absolute shock and immediately got my seatbelt off and jammed the door open. My Apple Watch had called 911 and I told them my whereabouts. The fire trucks, ambulance, and police all came. As I was getting my vitals checked by the EMTs a firefighter came over to me and told me how my water cup had saved the dash of my car from collapsing onto my legs on impact. I had hit the semi at more of a right sided angle so everything was forced toward the drivers seat. But hearing that the Stanley cup I have taken everywhere for the past two years was the reason I can walk away from that is crazy to me!
