A young woman trapped for over 65 hours was rescued from the debris of a collapsed apartment building in Mandalay, Myanmar on Monday by Chinese rescue team. Since the devastating earthquake struck central Myanmar on Friday, rescue teams have been racing against time to find the missing. On Monday morning, Chinese rescuers freed a 29-year-old woman from the rubble of the Sky Villa apartment complex in Mandalay, where intensive rescue efforts had been ongoing for 13 hours. She was the third survivor to be rescued from this site, following the earlier successful rescues of a child and a pregnant woman. In the early hours of the day, rescuers received information from the woman's sister, who guided them to the location. The rescue team managed to spot her location and confirmed that she was in relatively good health, with only minor injuries. The rescuers had provided the trapped woman with food and water through gaps in the debris, helping to sustain her during the rescue. Despite the extremely difficult conditions at the site, the rescuers finally pulled her out of the rubble. Rescue operations are still underway as both domestic and international emergency teams continue their efforts to search and rescue more survivors. The powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake has caused widespread devastation and claimed the lives of at least 1,700 people as of Sunday noon. Shotlist: Mandalay City, Myanmar - March 31, 2025: 1.
