Córdoba, Argentina - April 08, 2025 [WARNING: violent content] Police in Córdoba arrested a man who tried to avoid a checkpoint, rammed an officer, dragged him on the hood for six blocks, and fled to avoid having his car impounded. The incident occurred last night, and the officer is out of danger. Yesterday, just after 8 p.m., a police checkpoint was in operation at the intersection of San Juan Boulevard and Vélez Sarsfield Avenue. A 38-year-old man was driving a private VW Gol Trend and transporting passengers via the Uber app. The police officer was dragged on the hood of the car for six blocks, to the intersection of Artigas and San Juan streets in the Güemes neighborhood. An operation was subsequently carried out at the Las Delicias Country Club, where the suspect was located, arrested, and taken into custody. The vehicle was also seized. The Córdoba Police informed this outlet that the driver fled the scene "for fear of the vehicle being seized" and has not ruled out any possible cause. Meanwhile, the officer was taken to the Police Clinic, where he was hospitalized for observation, with minor injuries and out of danger.
