MUSLIMS WAITING OUTSIDE MOSQUE RAMALLAH, WEST BANK, PALESTINE - MARCH 30, 2025: Muslims in the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah came together at Great Surda Mosque on Sunday, March 30, for the Eid al-Fitr prayer, celebrating the end of Ramadan with communal worship. Around the world, Muslims celebrate Eid al-Fitr with prayers, festive meals, and communal events to mark the conclusion of Ramadan's daily fasting. This holiday is one of the two principal celebrations in Islam, the other being Eid al-Adha. Tension has been running high across the West Bank, where more than 940 Palestinians have been killed and nearly 7,000 others injured in attacks by the Israeli army and illegal settlers since the start of the Gaza onslaught on Oct. 7, 2023, according to the Health Ministry. The International Court of Justice declared Israel’s long-standing occupation of Palestinian territories illegal in July, calling for the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
