La Plata, Argentina - February 06, 2025 [WARNING: violent content] [WARNING: video contains profanity] A gang that kidnapped men after contacting them online, tortured them, and broadcast the attack on various platforms has been arrested. The group is led by Brandon Joaquín Maldonado, better known as YouTuber Brandon Lee, a 29-year-old young man from La Plata who currently faces extremely serious charges along with other accomplices, including a minor. The group operated out of temporarily rented apartments in Buenos Aires. They filmed extremely violent situations and shared them live on platforms like Kick. The attacks were so severe that, in some cases, they forced the victims to perform degrading acts, such as consuming excrement. They were also beaten and humiliated on camera. Brando Lee has more than 80,000 followers on Instagram and more than 400 subscribers on YouTube and went viral for sharing videos in which he allegedly "exposed" pedophiles. For the courts, however, many of these situations were fabricated by the gang members themselves. The gang's leader claimed he was posing as a minor to attract adults. Afterward, he violently harassed them without police intervention. Their content began to go viral, and over time, the group began kidnapping people to intensify the cruelty of their published material. However, it was discovered that at least one of the episodes was fabricated by the YouTube group, which, in addition to torturing and beating a person, disseminated their personal information to harass their family. While there has only been one formal complaint so far, the published videos confirm there are more victims. The gang is accused of unlawful deprivation of liberty aggravated by violence, multiple perpetrators, and coercion, with additional aggravating factors due to the involvement of a minor.
