A duck appeared to be on a fitness kick - joining joggers for a morning run in the park.

The bird left its flock to waddle alongside runners during their cardio workout in Jakarta, Indonesia on April 20.

Footage shows the feathered animal keeping pace with the crowd in the middle of the road.

It was not scared of people and trotted near them, amusing participants who slowed down to watch it.

Onlooker Aditya Mustaqim said: 'The duck joined it with runners during the Car Free Day at Jalan Sudirman.'

Aditya said the duck did not have an owner and lived in the nearby lakes.

She said: 'It just wandered away when we reached the finish line.'

Car Free Day is a weekly event held every Sunday morning in Jakarta. Major roads are closed to vehicles, allowing pedestrians and cyclists to enjoy the streets freely.
