VARIOUS OF VALLEJO MIGRANT CAMPMEXICO CITY, MEXICO - APR. 29: Mexican authorities issued a formal warning Tuesday, April 29, about the imminent removal of a migrant encampment in the Vallejo area of the capital. The camp, which has housed hundreds of migrants from various countries, has been operating for months without official authorization. Officials cited health and safety concerns — including poor sanitation and a lack of infrastructure — as the reasons for the eviction. Authorities said residents were notified and given time to leave voluntarily before forced clearance begins. The move comes days after the eviction of another migrant camp along the La Bestia railway tracks, where many Central American migrants had stayed en route to the U.S. border. The operation displaced dozens of people, prompting concern among human rights groups about the lack of alternative shelter and support.
