This is the moment a troop of wild baboons stormed through a neighbourhood — leaping over fences and scrambling across rooftops.

Michael Gordon Keet, 53, filmed the wild brawl on April 28, 2025, just metres from his home in Cape Town, where he says he lives side-by-side with the animals daily.

Video shows baboons growling and sprinting through residential yards and scrambling over rooftops in what Michael says was a battle for dominance and for females.

Michael, a clerk from Cape Town, South Africa said: "I live literally right next to them."

"There are over 60 in the troop. "

"I see them every day. "

"They're always around."

"When they start moving like that, jumping across fences and over houses, it's usually a territorial fight or something over the females."

Michael says incidents like this are normal for those who live on the edge of baboon territory but that doesn't make them any less dangerous.

Michael said: "They're very dangerous animals so I don't really feel safe filming. "

"But it's a normal incident for those of us who live here."

"They're very unpredictable animals but I've gotten used to having them around."

" I take my chances."
