VARIOUS OF FARMERS LOOKING AT CUT OLIVE TREESRAMALLAH, PALESTINE - MAY 5, 2025: Israeli settlers cut down nearly 100 olive trees belonging to Palestinian farmers in Ramallah on Monday, May 5, according to local sources. The incident occurred in the village of Turmus Ayya, north of Ramallah, where settlers, under the protection of the Israeli army, uprooted trees over 12 years old Palestinian farmer Mostafa Abu Zelef told Anadolu. Abu Zelef said the attack left “nothing safe from the harm of the settlers—not humans, not stones, not trees.” He added that the destruction took place as Israeli forces continued a simultaneous military campaign in Gaza. Nearly 960 Palestinians have been killed and more than 7,000 injured in attacks by the Israeli army and illegal settlers in the West Bank since the start of the Gaza war in October 2023, according to Palestinian figures. In July 2024, the International Court of Justice declared Israel's decades-long occupation of Palestinian land illegal and demanded the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
