Gorilla performance for crowd included throwing huge rock injuring a visitor
This is the shocking moment a gorilla threw a huge rock as part of his performance, injuring a visitor.
Diunaxing, the great ape, was entertaining guests at Nanning Zoo in Guangxi Zhuang, China.
Footage shows the primate removing stones from the soil before launching one into the audience, hitting a man filming nearby on May 1.
Zoo staff quickly responded, and the injured person was taken to the hospital, though the injuries were later confirmed to be minor.
The Nanning Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism confirmed that the tourist returned to their hotel after treatment.
The source of the rock is still under investigation.
Diunaxing is well known for its playful behavior, especially throwing objects like turf and flowers at crowds.
In March 2024, he went viral for throwing clumps of grass and turf, striking a man on the head.
In response to the recent incident, the zoo clarified that the gorilla would not be punished.
They said: 'We respect the habits of wild animals and encourage peaceful coexistence rather than disciplinary action.'
Nanning Zoo's senior animal trainer, Kong Fanming, previously explained that gorillas are intelligent and emotionally expressive animals, often imitating human behavior.
The zoo has warned tourists not to tease or feed the animals, as such actions can provoke unpredictable responses.
Despite the incident, Diunaxing remains a major attraction at the zoo, and the gorilla house continues to welcome the public.
