This is the heartwarming moment a tiny stray kitten trapped in a car dashboard was rescued.

The ginger moggie was heard faintly meowing in the vehicle as Sanchai Premdet, 31, was driving through Ayutthaya in central Thailand.

He pulled over to locate the source of the noise and discovered the furry stowaway curled up in the wheel arch of his Honda Jazz sedan on June 13.

Footage shows Sanchai using a screwdriver to partially dismantle the fender where the kitten had nestled into a narrow gap. He pulled out the frightened stray, which began crying

Sanchai said: 'I heard a cat crying while I was driving but couldn't find it inside the car. When I parked, I listened carefully and realised the sound was coming from the front.'

He said the male kitten may have climbed into his car after he dropped off his pregnant wife at a hospital.

Sanchai said he plans to adopt the kitten and raise it as a companion for his soon-to-be-born child.
