Airstrikes launched by India on Wednesday have killed at least 26 Pakistani civilians and injured 46 others, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistani military. Lt-Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, spokesman of the ISPR, said India launched a total of 24 attacks on six different locations in Pakistan, including Bahawalpur district of Punjab Province as well as Muzaffarabad and Kotli districts of the Pakistani-controlled Kashmir. Footage from CGTN shows that an Indian attack in Khoi Ratta, Pakistan's Azad Kashmir, also caused great damage to civilian residences and properties. India's Ministry of Defense said in a press release that the Indian armed forces launched "Operation Sindoor", hitting "terrorist infrastructure" in Pakistan and the Pakistani-controlled Kashmir from where "terror attacks" against India had been planned and directed. On the same day, Pakistan's Foreign Ministry condemned the strikes by India's air force. In a statement, the ministry said in an unprovoked and blatant act of war, and that the Indian Air Force, while remaining within Indian airspace, has violated Pakistan's sovereignty by using standoff weapons, targeting civilian population.
