Adorable footage shows meerkats, lemurs and monkeys scrambling for ice lollies to cool down on a hot day.

The treats are made using ice lolly moulds and contain frozen vegetables, nuts, and juices that are part of the animals' regular diet.

Tamara Nasser, 40, marketing manager at Drusillas Park in East Sussex, said: "Offering their food encased in ice encourages them to use their sense of smell to find the food inside and their problem-solving skills to break open the ice to retrieve the food."

"The animals all responded differently, which aligned with their unique personalities."

"The squirrel monkeys are known for being chaotic, so they pounced and scrabbled for the ice lollies. "

"The meerkats, being super bold and curious, wasted no time getting stuck in. "

"The saki monkeys are a little more cautious and careful, investigating before tasting, while the lemurs are super chilled and didn't seem all that surprised."

The video was filmed on May 1.
