Jacksonville, Florida Officers Rescue Trapped Duckling, Reunite It With Mom
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office officers sprang into action last week after being flagged down by citizens reporting a duckling trapped in a storm grate.
The officers, assigned to District 2 patrol, found the mother duck nearby, vocalizing anxiously. Acting quickly, they lifted the grate and safely removed the duckling, reuniting it with its mother.
The rescue was captured on body-worn camera video, including the moment the duckling waddled back to its waiting parent.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office shared the video on social media, praising the officers for their compassion and quick response.
