Greece - May 01, 2025 Mediterranean – HMS Prince of Wales has conducted a replenishment at sea (RAS), taking on more fuel from RFA Tidespring. This is part of the UK Carrier Strike Group’s mission, Operation Highmast, which began in May 2025. The Royal Navy's key deployment of 2025 involves a dozen nations and will last eight months. The task group, led by the flagship HMS Prince of Wales, will travel to the western Pacific Rim through the Mediterranean and Middle East. Operation Highmast includes large-scale exercises with British allies and partners. The goal is to reaffirm the UK’s commitment to the security of the Mediterranean and Indo-Pacific regions. It will also showcase British trade and industry while demonstrating collective resolve with allies. Throughout the deployment, upwards of 4,500 British military personnel will be involved. This includes nearly 600 RAF personnel, 900 soldiers, and 2,500 Royal Navy sailors and Royal Marines.
