Dramatic footage shows tornadoes ripping through Colorado.

Dozens of homes were damaged on Sunday (May 18) but there were no reports of injuries after four tornadoes swept through Colorado's Eastern Plains.

The National Weather Service confirmed two tornadoes touched down near Bennet in Arapahoe County and two more in Adams County - all in the span of 45 minutes.

Travis Nitchman, 41, who lives in Bennett, was home when the first tornado began to form.

Travis said: "My father passed away last July so I moved back home to help my mom out. "

"My sister who lives next called me crying saying there was a huge tornado coming right for the house and to get in the basement."

"It seemed a little way away so I took some video but then I could hear a low rumble that kept getting louder and louder like a freight train so I ran back inside and to the basement. "

"Thank god it lifted right before it got to my mom's house."

Travis grew up in the area but he says he's never seen anything like this before.

He said: "I've seen some crazy weather and even a few tornados but nothing as close as yesterday and nothing that crazy!"

"I'm just thankful everyone is safe."

"Some people homes and property were damaged but all of that can be replaced."
