[Voiceover] Various zoos and wildlife parks in China have been adding accommodations like hotels, restaurants, and cafes in closer proximity to their star attractions, the animals. At a wildlife park in Nantong City of eastern China's Jiangsu Province, live red pandas wander on the grounds of a jungle-themed hotel. Together with ring-tailed lemurs, the well natured red pandas interact with clearly excited children, posing for photos and pausing for a good petting. [Soundbite] Tourist: "On the first day, we plan to interact with the red pandas and capybaras. On the second day, we'll get up in the morning and open the door to feed animals like giraffes and zebras right from the balcony." [Voiceover] Meanwhile, at a zoo in Anji County of east China's Zhejiang Province, tourists can book a room at its lion-themed hotel. Designed to mimic the Colosseum in Rome, the hotel is situated around the lion enclosure, giving guests in every room 24-hour views of the lions, just out of their window. [Soundbite] Tourist: "We came from Taizhou in Jiangsu Province on a family trip. I booked this hotel to get up close to the tigers. If we had to travel back and forth to our hotel, we'd be rushed." [Voiceover] With an increase in demand for family friendly travel, the market size of China's zoo sector is expected to grow by about 8.5 percent this year to around 7 billion U.S. dollars.
