Phoenix, United States - January 16, 2026 01/16/2026 02:07 pm GMT-0700 PEORIA, Ariz. – Shortly after 2 p.m., the Peoria Fire Department and Glendale Fire Department were dispatched to the intersection of North 83rd Avenue and West Sweetwater Avenue for reports of a traffic collision. Upon arrival, fire department personnel discovered two school buses that had collided. One school bus sustained rear-end damage, and the other school bus sustained front-end damage. Multiple people were transported to local hospitals in unknown condition. It is unclear at this time how the collision occurred, and the Peoria Police Department responded to the scene to conduct their investigation. Southbound traffic was diverted at West Emile Zola Avenue, and northbound traffic was blocked to one lane.
