A mother used pliers to perform DIY surgery on her daughter with a bead stuck in her nose.

Footage shows Siti Sarah Najihah using the tool to extract the small object that was lodged deep in two-year-old Elly's nostril in Selangor, Malaysia.

Siti Sarah carefully inserted the grips through the hole to remove the white pearl-like bead.

She was assisted by her husband who held the toddler in place as she lay on her back on May 26.

The mum said: 'My husband and I were watching TV while both of our kids were playing.

'My daughter came over and pulled my hand to her nose. She has a habit of asking me to rub her nose when it itches.

'But when I did, I noticed something was wrong and took a closer look. That's when I saw she had stuffed a pearl up her nose.

'I didn't know where she found it because, as far as I know, I don't have any clothes or accessories with pearls like that. We then tried to remove it ourselves and managed to get it out.'

The little girl was unhurt, and the DIY operation was successful.
