Leading a high-level economic delegation, Prince Faisal held talks with Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa, where both sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and address regional developments. The discussions emphasized mutual interests, particularly in economic and energy-related collaboration. During a subsequent press conference at the Tishreen Palace, Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani underscored Syria’s commitment to maintaining economic sovereignty while fostering strong partnerships. He noted that Syria’s relationship with Saudi Arabia is rooted in shared interests and expressed appreciation for Saudi support in easing sanctions and aiding Syria’s post-conflict recovery. Shaibani also stressed that Syria’s reconstruction efforts would be independently led by its own people, without external interference. For his part, Prince Faisal affirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to supporting Syria’s stabilization, stating that the lifting of sanctions would have a direct positive impact on the lives of Syrians. He praised the resilience and potential of the Syrian people, expressing confidence in their ability to rebuild the nation and highlighting Saudi Arabia’s readiness to assist in the process.
