US: SpaceX Launches 27 Starlink Satellites Marking Falcon Rocket Milestone
Vandenberg Village, United States - June 04, 2025 SpaceX successfully launched 27 Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit Wednesday afternoon. The launch took place from Vandenberg Space Force Base at 4:40 p.m. PDT. This mission marked the 500th orbital launch of a Falcon rocket, including Falcon 1, Falcon 9, and Falcon Heavy models. Just over eight minutes after liftoff, the first stage booster landed on the droneship "Of Course I Still Love You" in the Pacific Ocean. This booster flew its 26th mission, including 18 Starlink launches. It was the 134th landing on this droneship and the 457th booster landing across California and Florida. The first Falcon 9 launch occurred on June 4, 2010, from Cape Canaveral with a test Dragon spacecraft. In 2020, Falcon 9 became the first commercial rocket to launch humans to orbit. Since then, Falcon rockets have supported commercial resupply missions and astronaut flights to the International Space Station. SpaceX’s next Falcon 9 launch is scheduled for 11:19 p.m. EDT Friday from Cape Canaveral. That mission will send a geostationary satellite for SiriusXM. SpaceX, NASA, and Axiom Space are preparing the fourth private astronaut mission to the ISS. Axiom Mission 4 will launch at 8:22 p.m. Tuesday from Kennedy Space Center pad 39A. The Dragon spacecraft is expected to dock with the ISS around 12:30 p.m. June 11. Nine people are currently aboard the space station.
