Sporcular, Hong Kong Turizm Kurulu ve Hong Kong Çin Dragon Bot Derneği tarafından ortaklaşa düzenlenen ve iki gün sürecek geleneksel yarışlarda 19 farklı kategoride rekabet etti. Yarışlara 12 farklı ülke ve bölgeyi temsilen 190'dan fazla takımda 4.500’ün üzerinde sporcu katıldı.
