VARIOUS OF DRONE SHOTS OF PROTESTERS MARCHING, HOLDING GIANT PALESTINIAN AND LIBYAN FLAGS, ENTERING MISTRATA’S INTERNATIONAL FAIR CENTER MISRATA, LIBYA - JUNE 12: The Maghreb Resistance Convoy, launched to help break the Israeli blockade on Gaza, was welcomed with roses upon its arrival in Misrata, Libya, on Thursday, June 12. Crowds carrying Palestinian and Libyan flags gathered at Misrata’s International Fair Center, showering Tunisian and Algerian activists with rose petals and offering them flowers. Local leaders voiced their support, while scout groups of schoolchildren held banners reading “Freedom for Palestine,” “Stand with Gaza for justice,” and “Salute to the land bearing the world’s pain.” The reception turned into a Gaza solidarity demonstration as residents and convoy members chanted slogans such as “Our lives and blood are sacrificed for you, Gaza.” The convoy, which entered Libya through Zawiya on June 10, includes around 2,000 activists from Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, and Mauritania. After passing through Tripoli, Tajoura, and Zliten, it was greeted with food, water, and sweets in each town. Upon reaching Egypt, the convoy—comprising about 120 vehicles and 12 buses—is expected to be joined by additional activists from nearly 50 countries arriving in Cairo by air to support the campaign.
