Turkish Red Crescent distributes hot meals to people starving in Gaza amid Israeli blockade
SHOTLIST: GAZA, PALESTINE (JUNE 12, 2025) (ANADOLU - ACCESS ALL) 1. VARIOUS OF PALESTINIAN PEOPLE WAITING IN LINE FOR HOT MEAL / TURKISH RED CRESCENT DISTRIBUTES HOT MEALGAZA, PALESTINE - JUNE 12: Amid the ongoing Israeli offensive and blockade, the Turkish Red Crescent distributed hot meals to displaced Palestinians in a makeshift camp in Gaza City’s Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, on Thursday, June 12. Hundreds of Palestinians, including women and children, formed long queues to receive food aid, highlighting the dire conditions faced by civilians amid ongoing hostilities. Conditions in displacement camps remain critical, with shortages of food, clean water, and medical supplies exacerbating the suffering of thousands forced to flee their homes. Israel has continued to close all Gaza’s border crossings to humanitarian aid since early March, amid warnings by aid agencies of the risk of famine among Gaza’s 2.4 million inhabitants. The Israeli army, rejecting international calls for a ceasefire, has pursued a brutal offensive against Gaza since October 2023, killing over 55,200 Palestinians, most of them women and children. Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave. Reporting by Hamza Z. H. Qraiqea // Writing by Mustafa Tuncer
