On June 13, in Chaozhou, Guangdong Province, heavy rainfall brought on by Typhoon “Butterfly” caused flash flooding across several roads. Amid the downpour, one man drew public attention by driving a heavily modified vehicle with oversized wheels straight through the flooded streets.

Video footage shows the car navigating through deep water with ease, thanks to its large custom rims — catching the eye of numerous onlookers.

However, the car’s moment of viral fame didn’t last long. The owner, Mr. Shen, later confirmed the vehicle was impounded by traffic police after being reported for illegal modifications. He advised others not to drive altered vehicles to avoid breaking the law.

Reportedly, this isn’t Shen’s first encounter with authorities over vehicle mods — he was previously investigated for turning a Honda Accord’s exhaust pipe into a cannon-style setup.
