Storyline: The nuclear facilities in Iran have been severely damaged by airstrikes from Israel and the United States, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said on Wednesday. The spokesman did not specify whether the damage occurred to the above-ground or underground facilities. On the same day, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said the strikes have only strengthened Iran's determination to advance its nuclear program, according to a report by Iranian media outlet. The foreign minister highlighted the considerable efforts Iran has invested in its nuclear technology, noting that Iranian scientists have made tremendous sacrifices, including giving their lives for this cause. He further said that no one in Iran will give up these technologies. Also on Wednesday, Chief of the General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Eyal Zamir claimed that the IDF has achieved all of its goals after 12 days of striking on Iran. According to an assessment by senior IDF Intelligence officials and nuclear experts, Iran's nuclear program has been systematically destroyed, said Zamir, adding that this could set Iran's nuclear program back by years. Zamir emphasized that Israel will not allow Iran to produce weapons of mass destruction. U.S. President Donald Trump said on Saturday that the United States has completed attacks on three nuclear sites in Iran, including "Fordow, Natanz and Esfahan." The recent conflict between Israel and Iran has resulted in significant casualties, with Iran's health ministry reporting 627 deaths and 4,870 injuries and Israel reporting 28 fatalities. Iranian Minister of Road and Urban Development announced on Wednesday that Iran had opened its eastern airspace for domestic, international, and transit flights. On the same day, El Al Israel Airlines announced the resumption of ticket sales for all its routes, with plans to restore regular flights to all destinations starting next week. On June 13, Israel launched major airstrikes on different areas in Iran, including nuclear and military sites, killing senior commanders, nuclear scientists and civilians. Iran responded by launching several waves of missile and drone attacks on Israel, inflicting casualties and heavy damage. On Saturday, the U.S. Air Force bombed three Iranian nuclear sites of Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan. In retaliation, Iran on Monday attacked the U.S. Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar with missiles. Following Iran's attack, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that a ceasefire between Iran and Israel would begin around 0400 GMT on Tuesday. Both sides later confirmed the start of the ceasefire.
