Israel: 'A new chance for a new Middle East': Tel Aviv banner calls for Arab-Israeli normalization
TEL AVIV, ISRAEL - JUNE 26, 2025: A banner calling for normalization with Arab countries was displayed in central Tel Aviv on Thursday, June 26, following a cease-fire between Iran and Israel that ended 12 days of mutual attacks. The banner, which features images of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Syrian President Ahmad Shar’a, Omani Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, and Lebanese President Joseph Aoun alongside US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, was placed on a large billboard in a prominent part of the city. The ad was published by the "Coalition for Regional Security," an organization formed a year ago that advocates for expanded diplomatic ties between Israel and Arab nations. "The Coalition for Regional Security promotes a new regional order in the Middle East that will serve as an iron shield against the threat of Iran and its proxies, for Israel’s security," the organization says on its web page. The coalition launched the 'Abraham Shield Plan' -- a new Israeli political and security initiative that seeks to capitalize on current regional dynamics to safeguard the nation's long-term security.
