Passengers scream as plane's wing hits another aircraft's tail before takeoff
Passengers screamed in shock as two Vietnam Airlines planes collided as they were taxiing to the runway.
Footage shows the wing of a Boeing 787 jet striking the tail of an Airbus A320 at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, Vietnam, on June 27.
Travellers onboard flight VN7205 can be heard gasping as the wing sliced through the rear of the other plane, leaving damage.
Vietnam Airlines said the aircraft was taxiing for departure to Ho Chi Minh City when its wing clipped Airbus, which was scheduled to fly to Da Nang.
No injuries were reported, but the impact left a large tear on the Airbus's tail.
Passengers were moved onto a new jet, and the flight to Ho Chi Minh City was delayed by four hours and left at 6 pm.
Both planes were taken out of service.
A Vietnam Airlines spokesman said: 'Our team is doing everything possible to support our passengers during this unexpected situation.
'We deeply regret the inconvenience this has caused and are working diligently to rebook affected passengers as quickly as possible.'
