VARIOUS DRONE SHOTS OF BURNED AREA HATAY, TÜRKİYE / JULY 1-2, 2025: A massive forest fire in southern Türkiye that broke out on Monday, June 30, province partially extinguished, local authorities reported on Wednesday, July 2. Officials stated that 1000 vehicles, eight planes, 12 helicopters and nearly 2700 personnel worked on the ground to battle the flames. Meanwhile, 240 residences were evacuated as a precaution and 2500 residents were placed in the dormitories. Drone footage from the area revealed extensive damage in neighborhoods heavily impacted by the flames. The images showed burned areas dangerously close to residential zones, with numerous trees reduced to ashes. No casualties have been reported so far, but investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing. Writing by Begum Darcin
