When Taylor Huffman called her local police department to report online harassment, she didn’t expect her doorbell to steal the show. After recently installing a Vivint security system, she had jokingly selected an evil Halloween laugh as her custom doorbell chime, then forgot about it.

So when the responding deputy rang her doorbell, the sinister laugh echoed through the house. Taylor’s reaction, caught on her security footage, was pure gold: a mix of confusion, suspicion, and instant regret.

I had to call my police department over the weekend because I was receiving some concerning messages online. I wanted to report basically a harassment complaint. However, I recently had Vivint security come out and set up camera and security lights. I had forgotten when I sat down with the Vivint sales representative he was showing me how I can customize my doorbell ring tones. Just being silly I selected the evil Halloween laugh ringtone, but never thought twice about it again after the installment. Of course it just so happens the first person to actually ring my doorbell since my ring camera was installed was the deputy seen in the video. I of course had to pull up my footage of her face when she heard the ringtone. Her reaction did not disappoint. She looked so confused and suspicious. Was too funny not to share!
