On June 29, a sudden landslide occurred in Jingu Village, Jingu Township, Hechi, Guangxi. A loader was pushed several metres by the landslide while in motion. Nearby villagers shouted warnings to the driver and ran to safety, fortunately, no one was injured.

The incident was triggered by continuous rainfall that had loosened the mountainside. At the time of the landslide, the loader driver didn’t hear a woman’s warning due to machinery noise. Part of the loader was buried by earth and rocks, but the driver was unharmed and managed to free himself without assistance.

Following the incident, local authorities quickly responded by setting up a safety cordon around the landslide site and dispatching geological disaster personnel to assess the situation. Staff from the Donglan County Natural Resources Bureau stated that cleanup could only begin after an on-site safety evaluation.
