Exclusive: Lamb born unable to walk learns to operate motorised chair to move around
Kiki was born unable to walk as her mother was infected with Cache Valley virus whilst pregnant. The sheep has now been taught to use a motorised chair allowing to independently move around.
The sheep lives at Don't Forget Us, Pet Us, a sanctuary in North Dartmouth, MA, for disabled animals.
Footage shows Kiki lying down on the device and using a joystick to move the chair around.
The filmer told Newsflare: "Kiki has never been able to walk. Her mom was infected with Cache Valley virus while pregnant with Kiki. The virus attacks the foetus. Normally they are still born, born mummified or if born alive die shortly after.
"Kiki sustained deformities, spinal curvatures, fused joints and neurological issues while in the womb and was born unable to walk. She always used music toys she would play for enrichment and we always knew she was capable of this! We built her world around her abilities NOT her disabilities!"
