On 8 July in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, a man filled the space between his car’s bonnet and protective cover with water and placed several fish inside, causing the cover to bulge and creating an aquarium-like effect.

According to the car owner, Mr Liu, the idea came to him when he went fishing but forgot to bring a bucket. On a whim, he decided to put the fish and water directly into the protective cover over his car’s bonnet.

He explained that the car was first wrapped in a custom decorative film, with an additional TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) protective film on top. The fish and water were contained between these two layers. However, he acknowledged that this setup was unstable and posed safety risks, urging others not to imitate it, stressing that safety should always come first.

Traffic police stated that the owner’s actions constituted illegal vehicle modification, making the car unfit for road use. Such modifications can compromise vehicle structural safety and violate road traffic safety regulations related to vehicle alterations.
