This is the funny moment a mum discovered teeth marks on a block of cheddar - after her young son made himself a sandwich without using any knives.

Proactive Sonny Fitch, five, snuck into the kitchen and secretly made his own packed lunch before school.

The school lad decided to take initiative on Wednesday 9 July preparing a cheese wrap and stashing it in his school bag, all before 7.45am.

Mum Kerry Fitch, 41, only realised something was up when she noticed his bag looked "a bit bulky" as they were heading out the door."

A quick look in the fridge revealed the truth - a block of cheese with tiny teeth marks.

All drawers in the house are fitted with magnetic locks, making knives inaccessible but Sonny had managed to get what he needed using his teeth.

Kerry, from Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex, is now planning to encourage his independence but with a new focus on safety.

She said: "I didn't know he had made lunch until I saw his school bag was a bit bulky."

"I plan to get some child-proof knives and teach him."

"But also tell him to ask me first and we can do it together."
