Chile - July 15, 2025 Río Paloma, Chile – Carabineros from the El Blanco station responded to an urgent call from residents in the Río Paloma area near Lago Caro after two horses were stranded due to a sudden rise in river levels. Heavy rainfall in the region caused the Río Paloma to swell, isolating the animals and leaving them unable to return to safety. Police officers, working together with locals, took part in the rescue effort to reach the trapped horses. The operation took place in a remote part of the sector, made difficult by ongoing weather conditions and rough terrain. Thanks to the joint effort between law enforcement and the community, both animals were successfully rescued from the rising waters.
