Los Angeles, United States - July 28, 2025 07/28/2025 01:30 pm GMT-0700 VAN NUYS, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – A brush fire broke out this afternoon between apartment buildings and the 405 Freeway in Van Nuys. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to reports of a structure fire on the 15600 block of Wyandotte Street just after 1:30 p.m. Upon arrival, crews found about half an acre of heavy weeds, brush, and trees ablaze between the freeway sound wall and several apartment buildings, as well as a commercial building between Valerio and Wyandotte streets. Firefighters quickly attacked the fire as it was exposing the nearby structures. Firefighters brought the blaze under control about 15 minutes after their arrival, but a full knockdown had not been declared as of 3:20 p.m. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and it is unclear if it caused any damage to the nearby properties. No injuries were reported.
