The Czech team has been conducting aerial water drops as part of international efforts to contain the blazes. “Deploy, secure, inspect, refill, and fly — this cycle has been nonstop since morning,” the team said, noting helicopters have been flying continuously over fire-affected areas. Bulgarian Interior Minister Daniel Mitov said the situation is gradually improving. “Fires in the country are decreasing, tensions are easing, and some of them have been brought under control, such as the one in Tran,” Mitov said at an operational briefing, according to the Bulgarian News Agency. He praised the efforts of Bulgaria’s General Directorate for Fire Safety and Population Protection and urged citizens to act responsibly, noting that “most of the fires are caused by negligence or deliberate actions.” The “forest weather” forecast also indicates continued high fire risk in parts of southern France through Wednesday, with Vaucluse, Bouches-du-Rhone, and Aude remaining under heightened vigilance.
