KHAN YOUNIS, GAZA, PALESTINE - AUGUST 5, 2025: Five people were killed in Israeli strikes targeting tents housing displaced families in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis, southern Gaza, medical sources confirmed. Video footage from the scene shows both injured civilians—including children—and the deceased being transported to Nasser Hospital, where emergency teams provided urgent treatment.

An eyewitness, Palestinian Nael Ibrahim Khalidiya, confirmed that the victims included Dr. Rajap Abu al-Eib, 57, a physician at Nasser Hospital, and Akram Mohammad al-Rakab, a local school principal.

Khalidiya emphasized that the area was inhabited solely by civilians who had taken shelter in tents. He added that the attacks did not discriminate between women and children.

Speaking from the scene, Khalidiya pleaded for an end to the violence, saying the people simply want to live in peace.

At least 20 Palestinians were killed and dozens wounded in a fresh wave of Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, medics said.

The Israeli army, rejecting international calls for a ceasefire, has pursued genocide in Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023, killing nearly 61,000 Palestinians, almost half of them women and children. Israel’s military campaign has devastated the enclave and brought it to the verge of famine.

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
